Bed Wetting :
Bedwetting means the unintentional release of urine. It is also known as Nocturnal enuresis. Most common in children among age between 4 to 6 years of age. Children by the age of 7 outgrow bedwetting on their own, but in certain conditions, like a child with an intellectual disability unable to control bedwetting and underlying conditions like UTI, Pinworm, and seizures. There are two kinds of enuresis: 1) Primary enuresis is when a child bedwets for at least 6 months period of time and reports of bed wetting during daytime. 2) Secondary enuresis in this child who stopped bed wetting for 6 months consistently and started again, and also other problems like neurological, constipation, and voiding dysfunction. To diagnose, urinalysis and X-ray of the kidney is used. Treatment is followed primarily by lifestyle changes, and if bedwetting is caused by constipation or sleep apnea, the concerned doctor should treat it.
