Nephrologist :
A nephrologist is a specialized doctor who deals with the diagnosis and treatment of diseases that affect the kidneys. A nephrologist is qualified with a graduation in MBBS, followed by post-graduation in MD or DNB in general medicine. Further qualified with super speciality, DM in nephrology, or DNB in nephrology. There are various conditions that can be treated by a nephrologist, including kidney failure, kidney disease, electrolyte imbalances, kidney infections, stones in the kidney, dialysis care, transplantation of a kidney, and renal obstruction by stones or tumors. When there are symptoms seen as changes in urination like increased frequency of urination, pain during urination, foamy urine, decreases frequency of urination, swelling of feet, legs, ankles, around the eyes, difficult to urinate, blood in urine, weakness which is persistent, high blood pressure, loss of appetite, dry skin, muscle cramps, any family history of kidney disease, back pain, hypertension, diabetes are noticed, should consult a nephrologist for diagnosis and treatment.
