Peripheral Artery Disease :
Peripheral Artery Disease (PAD) is a disease that affects the peripheral arteries, which are the blood vessels that carry oxygen-filled blood across the body. PAD causes these blood vessels to become blocked or clogged due to a build-up of plaque. Plaque is a thick and sticky substance made out of fats and other substances present in the blood. Blockages in the arteries make it difficult for the blood to flow. Moreover, it can also cause symptoms like pain around the affected artery, skin changes and ulcer development. PAD tends to develop in the lower limbs, but it can develop anywhere in the body.
PAD is diagnosed with a combination of tests like vascular ultrasound, CT angiogram and MR angiogram. The treatment involves a combination of lifestyle changes and medications. However in severe cases a procedure may be required to clear the blockage in the arteries.Found 7 Doctors for Peripheral Artery Disease Treatment in Waltair Main Road, Visakhapatnam
