Malaria :

Malaria is a disease caused by a protozoa plasmodium that is transmitted by a mosquito bite which is a serious medical condition and may become life threatening in some cases. The signs and symptoms include high grade fever associated with chills , headache, nausea, vomiting ,loss of appetite, abdominal pain , diarrhoea ,anemia, jaundice in some patients. Diagnosis is made by physical examination, medical history and blood tests to detect the malarial parasite. Management is based the signs , symptoms and species of the plasmodium infected (vivax, falciparum, ovale, malariae, knowlwsi) etc, that includes antimalarial medications(chloroquine, quinine, artemisinin based combination therapies ACT's) and other supportive care to prevent further complications like cerebral malaria, severe anemia, organ failure and death.
