A paediatric endocrinologist can be a specialist who deals with the diagnosis and treatment of hormone-related problems in children and adolescents. A paediatric endocrinologist is qualified with a graduation in MBBS, followed by a post-graduation in MD or DNB in paediatrics. Further, they will possess DM in pediatric endocrinology. A paediatric endocrinologist is well-trained in managing delayed growth, early puberty, growth disorders, disorders in sexual development, thyroid disorders, pituitary disorders, adrenal gland disorders, obesity, low blood sugar, and bone disorders. When there are symptoms in children such as abnormal growth factors like excess height, or short stature, excess urination, excess thirst, unexplained weight loss or weight gain, longtime fatigue or weakness, mood changes, family history of endocrine disorders, delayed puberty, early puberty, the child should get checked with a paediatric endocrinologist for the diagnosis of underlying disease and treatment.
