Pterygium :
Pterygium is an outgrowth fleshy structure present in the corner of the eye. It appears in the shape of a triangle or wing, and mostly, it is in the color of white or pink and accumulated with small blood vessels in it. Due to this condition, patients experience vision loss, dryness, itchiness, burning sensation, redness in the eyes, and other related problems. This type of eye problem and its symptoms are treated by an eye care specialist, who will conduct screenings like visual acuity tests, corneal topography, photo documentation and other related tests, which will help to evaluate and give appropriate treatment to the patient. Mostly doctors prescribe eye drops and eye ointments and surgically treat it if it gets worse. The eye doctor recommends using UV protection glasses and suggests not to get exposed to sunlight and dust particles.
