A hepatologist can be called a medical specialist who deals with the diagnosis and management of diseases that affect the liver, biliary tree, gall bladder, and pancreas. A hepatologist will be qualified with a graduation in MBBS, followed by post-graduation in MD or DNB in general medicine. Further specialized with DM or a fellowship in Hepatology.
