Warts in Adults :
Warts are unusual growths on the skin that may appear flat or bumpy. These growths develop on the skin when an individual becomes infected with the human papillomavirus. Warts do not always develop on the outer surface; they can also grow on the inner lining of the skin such as inside the mouth. Though these growths are harmless and rarely cause pain, they can appear and feel bothersome on the body.
An individual can become affected by warts when they come into direct or indirect contact with them. A doctor can diagnose these growths with a visual examination. Other tests are usually not required, but a doctor may order a skin biopsy in some cases. Warts do not require treatment and usually disappear on their own. It takes several months for these growths to vanish, so a doctor may suggest treatments such as medicines and ointments. In some cases, a doctor may suggest procedures such as cryotherapy, laser therapy, immunotherapy or surgery.
