Dry Eyes :
Dry eyes are the condition of the eye when there is not enough production of tears to lubricate the eyes. Symptoms of dry eye can be redness of the eyes, irritation and itching of eyes, sensitivity to the eye, blurred vision, burning sensation of the eyes, eye fatigue, etc. The causes of dry eyes include the evaporation of tears too quickly and not enough tears. Sometimes, dry eyes can be a sign of other medical diseases such as diabetes, Sjogren's syndrome, thyroid eye disease, and blepharitis. Also, dry eyes occur when there is prolonged screen time, long time use of contact lenses, being in windy and dusty climates, and may be due to LASIK surgery. It is diagnosed through an eye examination, dryness test, and osmolarity test by an ophthalmologist. Treatment will be dependent on the cause of the disease, which includes medications, eye drops, medications to stimulate medicines, etc.
