Vaginal Dryness :
The lining of the vagina is usually lubricated with a fluid that makes it thick and moist. Vaginal dryness develops if this lining loses its fluid and becomes dry and thin. This dryness can cause pain or discomfort when sitting, peeing, exercising, or during sex. The condition can develop at any age, but it's most common in post-menopausal women. Menopause causes a drop in the oestrogen levels, which in turn causes this dryness. Childbirth, breastfeeding, birth control pills, diabetes, and cancer treatments are some of the possible causes of vaginal dryness. The dryness can also cause burning, itching, recurring infections, and bleeding after sex. Doctors perform a pelvic exam and a blood test to find the cause of vaginal dryness. Then, the patient may be prescribed medicines or creams to compensate for any lack of oestrogen.
