Uveitis :
Uveitis is an eye condition that can affect the eye, leading to inflammation of the uvea, which is the middle layer of the eye. There are various types of uveitis that are classified based on the areas in which they are seen, such as anterior, posterior, and intermediate. When uveitis affects the three areas, it is known as panuveitis. The uveitis can be caused by systemic causes, medications, infections, or injuries. The symptoms that are noticed in anterior uveitis will be red eye, eye pain, blurred vision, swollen conjunctiva, sensitivity to light, changes in the pupil size, and whitish liquid accumulating at the bottom of the eye. There are other symptoms of uveitis that are seen on the posterior and intermediate areas, including increased floaters, decreased vision, and missing sections in the vision fields. The diagnosis of uveitis will be based on the diagnostic tests, such as eye examination, visual acuity test, slit lamp examination, optical coherence tomography (OCT), brain MRI, blood tests, and chest X-ray. The management of uveitis will be through managing the underlying cause of it.
