Pulmonary valve stenosis :
The exact cause of pulmonary valve stenosis is unclear. However conditions like congenital heart diseases, rheumatic fever are known to increase the risk of pulmonary valve stenosis. Symptoms include shortness of breath, cardiac murmurs, bluish discoloration skin during exertion, chest pain and feeling of fainting. It can be diagnosed by ECG, 2D Echo, cardiac angiography, other imaging techniques like CT and MRI. There is no medical treatment for pulmonary valve stenosis, surgical interventions like valvuloplasty and Pulmonary valve replacement are treatment of choice. After surgery lifestyle management like reduction in weight, eating healthy, regular physical exercises, quitting alcohol and smoking plays a major role.
