Prolapse of Uterus :
Prolapse of the uterus is described as the sagging of the uterus into the vagina in women due to the weakening of the muscles and tissues around the uterus. The factors responsible for causing prolapse of uterus are undergoing more than one vaginal delivery, a similar family history, prior pelvic surgeries and menopause. The significant signs of prolapse of uterus include a feeling of heaviness, fullness or pressure in the pelvis, pain the pelvis, abdomen or lower back, pain during sex, trouble inserting tampons or other applicators into the vagina, uterine tissue that falls through the opening of the vagina, constipation and urination problems like urinary incontinence, increase in the frequency of urination and urinary urgency. The non-surgical methods to manage prolapse of the uterus include vaginal pessary, maintaining a healthy diet, and practicing Kegel exercises, and surgical methods involve hysterectomy with prolapse repair and prolapse repair without hysterectomy.
