Hoarseness can also be known as dysphonia. Hoarseness can be referred to as a change in voice that is strained, rough, or raspy. The hoarseness can occur due to damage to the vocal cords or larynx, which produces sound, irritants, infections, voice misuse, growths such as cysts, polyps, and nodules, and other conditions include neurological disorders, laryngitis, thyroid problems.
