High Risk pregnancy :
High risk pregnancy is a condition, when the baby and mother are having complications during and after the pregnancy. During high risk pregnancies, doctors provide extra medical care all through the pregnancy and even after the pregnancy to reduce any other complications for mother and baby. There are some factors that make high risk pregnancy are high blood sugar, fibroids, hypertension, autoimmune conditions, kidney problems, PCOD, blood disorders, HIV, thyroid disease, obesity, and mental health problems like depression. The high risk pregnancy can also be due to a few pregnancy related issues such as carrying multiple babies (twins or triplets), gestational diabetes, low birth weight of baby, preeclampsia, gestational hypertension, abruption of placenta, preterm delivery in the past, low or high amount of amniotic fluid. Treatment for high risk pregnancy involves having regular checkups and close monitoring by a gynecologist & obstetrician, regular checkups of blood pressure, changes in lifestyle, and management of risk factors and complications.
