Hepatitis is inflammation caused by viruses from the hepatitis virus, autoimmune diseases, excessive and prolonged alcohol consumption and exposure to toxins. There are five most common viruses causing hepatitis A, B, C, D, and E. Hepatitis A and E main spread factors are food and water contamination. However, the most likely mode of hepatitis B, C, and D is through infection by contact with infectious bodily fluids, specifically blood. The symptoms of hepatitis range from mild to severe. The signs and symptoms of hepatitis include the following Fatigue Jaundice in skin and eyes , they turn yellowish in color, urine is dark colored , stools are light colored , nausea and loss of appetite. Some patients never experience any symptoms at all. This is usually the case with hepatitis B and C and can remain asymptomatic for years until it is diagnosed. They later develop into chronic liver disease or cirrhosis eventually. The treatment depends on the type and severity level of hepatitis. Acute Type A usually undergoes natural cure but chronic cases B and C are very responsive to antiviral drugs. Along with this, lifestyle changes such as not using alcohol and maintaining a well-balanced diet also plays a vital role . All of them together with vaccination is also used as preventive medication.
