Foot pain :
The most common complaint coming from a host of conditions that affect the bones, joints, ligaments, tendons, or nerves in the foot is probably pain in the foot. Some of the more common causes include plantar fasciitis with inflammation to the tissue along the bottom of the foot, arthritis, tendonitis, stress fractures and even some less common conditions such as neuropathy or flat feet. Other causes of heel pain could be the wrong type of shoes, or being obese. It could be due to overwork resulting from running or standing for some time.Localized pain and swelling, stiffness, and inability to stand or walk are common symptoms.
The pain can be sharp, aching, or even throbbing, and it may be possible on the heel, through the arch, or even in the toe. Diagnosis is commonly realized through assessment of the patient's history and physical, augmented with further imaging techniques, like X-rays or MRIs if structural issues or an injury are suspected. Treatment will depend on etiology but most often consists of rest , ice ,compression , elevation , and analgesics on an as needed basis. In very extreme instances surgery may be necessary. Risks of foot pain may also be prevented or at least minimized by wearing supportive shoes, having good weight, and reduction of impact activities.
