Eye Test :
An eye test is performed to evaluate the vision of the person and eye health and analyze for potential eye conditions. Ophthalmologists and optometrists are the eye care specialists who conduct eye tests. The different types of eye tests done based on the purpose are general tests, follow-up tests, and medical or emergency tests. The emergency eye test is done when a person complains of a sudden loss of vision, which can look like blurring or fading, darkening or dimming, a black curtain covering part or all of the vision, and bright flashes that cover part or all of the vision. The components of the eye test are checking for visual acuity, visual fields, movement and alignment, conjunctiva, pupil iris, surrounding outer tissue or ocular adnexa, and intraocular pressure. Slit lamps are used as a part of eye tests to check for cornea, anterior chamber, lens, optic nerve, and retina. Eye tests are needed when there is a higher risk of eye diseases in people who are above sixty years of age and family history of eye diseases, eye surgery, and eye injury, and those who wear glasses or contacts.
