Endometriosis :
Endometriosis is described as the growth of tissues that are similar to the uterine lining in other parts of the body, such as the middle layer of the uterine wall, the peritoneum, the ovaries, the space behind the uterus, and the fallopian tubes. The presenting complaints of endometriosis include heavy bleeding during periods or spotting between periods, very painful menstrual cramps, back pain or abdominal pain in between periods or during the period, infertility, pain during sex, stomach problems like constipation, diarrhea, or bloating, and pain while urinating or passing stool. The risk factors associated with endometriosis include short menstrual cycle, similar biological family history, never having children and long heavy periods. The treatment options to manage endometriosis include using medications like non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, hormonal therapy options such as gonadotropin- releasing hormone antagonists or agonists, birth control, danazol, and surgical procedures such as hysterectomy and laparoscopic surgery.
