Dust Allergy :

Dust allergy is a medical condition in which the body produces allergic reactions to the dust mite or its feces which are usually present on the mattress, carpets, bedding etc. The risk factors include family history of allergies, atopic kids( asthma, eczema and other allergies) genetics etc. The signs and symptoms includes nasal decongestion , stuffiness, sneezing fits, runny nose, itching, watery eyes, coughing, hives or skin rashes, post nasal drip(usually clear) , wheezing and sometimes worsening of symptoms of asthma can be seen. It can be diagnosed by skin prick test or scratch test, IgE levels blood test. Management is by avoiding the allergen as much as possible by hygienic bedding and mattress, air purifiers, allergy shots, allergen immunotherapy and other supportive care.
