Dark Circles :
Dark circles are characterized by a darkened appearance of skin under the eyes and are a common complaint. Dark circles make the person look older than usual or tired. Depending on the natural skin color, the area with dark circles appears as shades of blue, black, purple or brown. These dark circles are commonly observed in elderly people, people with darker skin tones and people with a similar family history. The most common cause of dark circles is the process of aging. The other factors causing dark circles include genetics, rubbing the eyes, lack of sleep, hyperpigmentation, dermatitis, dehydration and other lifestyle factors. The treatment plan to manage dark circles includes at home methods like getting more sleep, using cold compresses, cucumbers, more pillows, teabags, using eye make up and facials and medical treatments including topical creams and bleaching agents, laser therapy, tissue fillers, chemical peels, platelet rich plasma (PRP) injections and eyelid surgery.
