Cataract :

Cataract is a degenerative eye disease that occurs in both men and women. The lens of the eye becomes non transparent leading to blurry vision. This can occur either in a single eye or on both sides. Cloudy vision can be lead to difficulty in seeing especially at night times. There are various risk factors that can be associated with cataracts and some common ones are hypertension, exposure to harsh UV radiation, obesity and use of long term steroids.

To treat cataracts, Ophthalmologists replace the clouded lens. The blurred lens are removed and artificial lens are placed that aid in vision. These artificial lens are of various types that are selected based on the requirement like monofocal, multifocal, as well as light adjustable toric.
