Breast Abscess :
Breast abscess is described as the accumulation of pus in the breast region, because of an active infection, commonly seen in lactating females. The primary factor causing breast abscess is bacteria, which causes pain in lactating women. The presenting complaints of breast abscess are pain in the region, an increase in temperature of the skin around the affected area, redness, along with discharge from another part of the breast, fatigue, fever with chills, and swelling. The treatment methods to deal with a breast abscess involve prescribing antibiotics and making an incision to drain the abscess via a needle. After the treatment, the patient has to seek immediate medical care if they experience problems such as signs of a new infection, swelling, redness, high fever, and pus discharge from the treatment site. The life- threatening complication that may occur due to a breast abscess, if left untreated, is sepsis (which occurs due to the spread of infection throughout the body).
