Bleeding During pregnancy :
Bleeding during pregnancy is common in the first trimester. It may caused by implantation bleeding, hormonal changes, changes in the cervix, when pregnancy forms outside the uterus, when a fertilized egg forms a tumor instead of a fetus, when blood forms between the amniotic sac and uterine wall, cervical polyps, sexually transmitted infections, urinary tract infections, and miscarriage. It is also seen in the second and third trimesters due to placenta previa, placental abruption, preterm labor, labor, incompetent cervix, light bleeding mixed with mucus, and miscarriage. Sex, pelvic exams, pap tests, and trauma to the abdomen during pregnancy also cause bleeding. Treatments that can be done are relaxing and staying off the feet, drinking lots of water, avoiding sex and travel, and staying in the hospital if the bleeding is severe.
