Ankle Pain :
Causes of pain in the Ankle Injuries, arthritis, and overuse are common causes of pain in the ankle. The most common one occurs when the overstretched or even torn ligaments typically occur due to twisting or rolling of the foot. Other causes include tendonitis, gout, or fractures. Symptoms include swelling, bruising, stiffness, and inability to bear any weight on the affected foot. Most treatments rely on what caused the condition but usually involve steps like resting the affected area, application of ice compression, and elevation of the involved area, in addition to pain medication . In the worst case scenarios, sometimes physical therapy or even surgery is necessary in repairing the damaged tissues surrounding the ankle. Maintenance of supportive shoes and avoidance of irregular surfaces also prevent further incidence of ankle injuries.
