Alcohol Addiction :
Alcohol addiction is the dependence on alcohol to such an extent that a person becomes a compulsive drinker, loses control over its intake, and is in a negative emotional state if alcohol is unavailable. This type of addiction is a chronic relapsing disorder, making the person susceptible to alcohol influence despite knowing about its adverse health, social, and occupational hazards.
Alcohol addiction may be mild, moderate, or severe in form. Alcohol addiction during adolescence may affect brain development and make a person more prone to alcohol use disorder (AUD) later on in life.
