Liver Cancer :
Liver cancer also known as hepatic cancer is a type of cancer that affects the liver which is responsible for eliminating toxins, storing energy and aids in digestion. Liver cancer can occur due to various reasons and the risk factors include hepatitis B and C infections, cirrhosis of the liver(scarring), alcohol abuse, non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD), aflatoxins, family history, obesity, diabetes, smoking etc. HCC or Hepatocellular carcinoma is the most common type of liver cancer. Signs and symptoms include weight loss, loss of appetite, fatigue, abdominal pain, jaundice (yellowing of skin and eyes), dark urine etc. Effective management is necessary to prevent further spread of the cancer and may include surgery(liver resection or transplant), ablation, embolization, radiation therapy, chemotherapy and other supportive care
