SBRT :
Stereotactic body radiation therapy is called as SBRT and it is the type of cancer treatment. SBRT is used in treating cancers that affects lungs, spine, liver, lymph nodes, neck. 3D or 4D imaging is used in SBRT treatment therapy in order to focus the beams of higher radiation to cancer affected areas. SBRT can also be used to treat benign tumors which are not dangerous. There are two different types of SBRT, which are linear accelerator known as LINAC, and proton beam called as charged particle. In the procedure SBRT, high beam radiation is used to focus on the affected area and kills the tumor cells, and prevents the further spread of cancer to other body parts. SBRT can cause some side effects such as fatigue, swelling, vomiting, nausea, changes in the appearance of skin, and there are also late side effects such as weak bones, lung changes, changes in spinal cord, bowel & bladder changes, swelling of arms, legs, and may also cause developing of other new cancer.
