Uveitis :
Uveitis is an inflammation of the structures consisting of the iris, ciliary body, and choroid that are collectively referred to as the uvea. Vitreous detachment can occur in one or both eyes, and may present some features such as redness, pain, hazy vision, light sensitivity and presence of floaters or small lines and spots that appear across the vision.Uveitis is a condition that originates from one or many factors such as auto immune diseases, infections and eye injuries. In some instances, it is quite difficult to tell the cause is in existence or is looming in the near future. The treatment is aimed at combating inflammation and controlling the symptoms . This may require using of corticosteroid eye drops , pills , or shots . In cases of specific cause for uveitis , it is more important to treat that specific cause as well .Uveitis requires early diagnosis and treatment because, if not managed, may result in complications such as glaucoma or cataracts, or vision loss in some cases. Such individuals should always visit their eyes checked frequently after experiencing some symptoms to ensure that they do not develop uveitis.
