Testis Cancer :
Testis cancer is a disease in which cancer cells develop in the tissues of the testicles. The testicles are the glands underneath the penis that produce the male sex hormones and sperm. Cancer cells develop in the testis when the germ cells in the glands come together to form a tumour.
The most common symptom of testis cancer is a lump in the testis. The disease can also cause symptoms like a dull pain in groin or in the scrotum. Other symptoms of this condition include a decrease in the size of the testicle and a sudden fluid build-up in the scrotum. Diagnosis of testis cancer begins with a physical exam and requires tests such as an ultrasound scan and a biopsy. The doctor may also order tests like CT scan, X-rays and MRIs. The treatment of testis cancer involves surgically removing the affected testicle. Surgery may be combined with other treatments such as radiation therapy and chemotherapy.
