Presbyopia :
Presbyopia is a condition in which the eyes lose the ability to change their focus. The condition naturally develops as the body ages and can make it difficult to see nearby objects. Presbyopia begins to develop around age 40 and gets severe when an individual is in their mid 60s. Having far-sightedness or conditions like diabetes, heart problems or multiple sclerosis increases the risk of presbyopia. Taking medications like antidepressants and antihistamines also increases the risk.
The symptoms of this condition include blurry vision, headaches, eye strain and need for additional light when reading. An ophthalmologist can diagnose this condition by performing an eye exam. The treatment of presbyopia may involve wearing eye glasses or contact lenses. In some cases, an ophthalmologist may prescribe eye drops that provide relief from the symptoms. Some patients can benefit from eye surgeries like PRK or LASIK surgery.Found 48 Doctors for Presbyopia Treatment in Vijayawada
