Nerve injuries :
There are several causes that lead to nerve injuries. Some of those causes are surgery, accidents, injuries during sports, falls, and medical conditions such as carpal tunnel syndrome, diabetes, and guillain-barre syndrome, which damages the nerves. There are types of nerve injuries like axonotmesis, neurapraxia, and neurotmesis. The symptoms that are noticed during nerve injuries are numbness, tingling sensation, mild to severe pain, loss of function, weakness, and difficulty in bowel and bladder movements when nervous organs are injured. It is treated by physical examination, enquiring medical history, and doctor recommends some diagnostic tests such as MRI scan, CT scan, electromyography (EMG), and ultrasound. Treatment for these nerve injuries can be through medications, physiotherapy, nerve regeneration, and surgery to relieve the pressure on the nerve, conservative care to be taken in case of mild injuries like immobilization, adequate rest, and pain management.
