Myomectomy :
Myomectomy is described as a surgical procedure to remove the uterine fibroids from the uterus. The presenting complaints of uterine fibroids include not being able to fully empty the bladder, irregular bleeding or bleeding between periods, heavy menstrual bleeding, and pelvic pain. There are various ways in which myomectomy is carried such as open myomectomy, robotic myomectomy or minimally invasive laparoscopic and hysteroscopic myomectomy. Depending on the size of fibroids, the location of these fibroids, and the number of fibroids in the uterus, the type of myomectomy is decided. The complications that may arise after myomectomy include blood clots, infection, bleeding, allergic reactions to anesthesia, damage to nearby organs and increased risk of needing a C- section delivery. It takes around six weeks to recover completely, depending on the type of myomectomy. If the patient presents complaints like fever or other flu-like symptoms, trouble breathing or chest pain, heavy bleeding, red, swollen legs, pain that is not managed by medication, or after surgery, they should seek immediate medical care.
