Liver Cancer :
Liver cancer is a life-threatening growth of abnormal cells in the liver. When cancer develops in the liver, it can cause symptoms like tiredness, dark-coloured urine, yellow-coloured stools and a hard lump on the right side of the body below the rib cage. Other symptoms of liver cancer include itchy skin, loss of appetite, jaundice, pain in the abdomen, fever and unexplained bruising.
The diagnosis of liver cancer begins with a physical exam and inquiry about the symptoms. An oncologist will order a number of tests to diagnose this cancer, including blood tests, CT scan, angiogram, MRI, liver ultrasound and ERCP test. The doctor will also order a liver biopsy to diagnose the condition. Liver cancer is treated with surgery and other treatments such as chemotherapy, radiation therapy, targeted therapy and immunotherapy.
