Lazy Eye :
Lazy eye, also known as amblyopia, is described as having difficulty seeing clearly with both eyes because of reduced vision in one eye. The significant signs of lazy eye include shutting one eye or squinting a lot, bumping into objects, favouring one side of their body, having crossed eyes, having a droopy eyelid and frequently tilting the head to one side. Lazy eye or amblyopia is caused by conditions such as refractive errors (farsightedness, nearsightedness and astigmatism), crossed eyes or strabismus, structural eye conditions like droopy eyelids, cataracts and issues with the cornea. This eye problem is mainly observed in children with low birth weight, premature birth and developmental delays, and those who have biological family members with eye and vision problems. The management of lazy eye involves using medicated eye drops (atropine), wearing an eyepatch, eyeglasses and lastly lazy eye surgery.
