Lap Appendectomy :
Appendectomy is the removal of the appendix. Lap appendectomy can be called the laparoscopic removal of the appendix. Appendectomy will be an emergency surgical procedure that should be done immediately in order to prevent inflammation and rupture of the appendix. An appendectomy needs to be done within 24 hours of the diagnosis of appendicitis. During the procedure of laparoscopic appendectomy, 1-3 incisions are made on the abdomen, then a tiny port is inserted into the incision, and then a cannula is inserted to inflate the abdomen. A laparoscope is placed through a cannula, and then the appendix is removed. Then suturing will be done to close the incisions. The complications that are seen with appendectomy will be wound infection, bleeding, injury to other organs, and blockage of the bowels. There are other side effects that occur after the appendectomy, such as gas pain, nausea, bloating of the abdomen, and constipation. The benefits associated with the laparoscopic appendectomy include less discomfort, less pain, quicker recovery time, shorter hospital admission, fewer scars, and a lower risk of infection. Generally, a laparoscopic appendectomy is a safer and more effective treatment.
