Knock Knees :
Knock knees are a deformity that causes the knees to curve inward and touch each other while standing with the ankles apart. The deformity is common in children and is a normal part of a child's growth. Knock knees develop when children are between two and four years old. The deformity corrects itself by the time the child turns seven or eight.
Some children do not grow out of knock knees because of problems like obesity, vitamin D deficiency, fractures and tumours. Knock knees can cause symptoms like difficulty in walking and pain. A paediatric orthopaedician can diagnose this condition with a physical exam, blood tests and X-ray scans. The treatment of knock knees involves the use of special braces that align the knee joints correctly.
