High Arch Foot :
High Arch Foot, also known as pes cavus, is described as a condition where the arches of the feet appear high than usual, resulting in pain and instability while the person is walking. The significant signs of high arch foot include ankle pain and swelling and arch pain, foot pain in the ball or heel region, ankle joint instability causing it to frequently sprain, corns and calluses on parts of the foot that take more pressure, and inward- curling toes like claw toes or hammertoes. People with high arch foot, sometimes also present with chronic pain caused by repetitive strain injuries like plantar fasciitis, peroneal tendonitis and metatarsalgia. High arch feet, if left untreated, may cause potential complications like foot and ankle arthritis, knee pain and back pain. The primary causes of high arch foot are genetics and genetic disorders like spina bifida occulta and charcot- marie- tooth disease.
