Frozen shoulder :
Frozen shoulder is a painful condition affecting the movement of the shoulder. Frozen shoulder is also known as adhesive capsulitis. The frozen shoulder will be caused by inflammation of the shoulder joint, which will lead to thickening and tightening of the shoulder. The symptoms that are seen in frozen shoulder will be in three stages: freezing stage, thawing stage, and frozen stage. The diagnosis of frozen shoulder will be based on the physical examination, X-rays, ultrasound scan, and MRI scan. The treatment advised for frozen shoulder will be done with hot compress, cold compress, pain relievers, steroid injections, physiotherapy, transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS), and exercises suggested by the doctor at home. When the above treatment does not give any relief from the pain, surgical treatment is indicated, which will be called manipulation and shoulder arthroscopy. There will be risk factors that will increase the risk of frozen shoulder, including age of 40- 60 years, females, diabetes, shoulder injuries in recent times, stroke, hyperthyroidism, hypothyroidism, parkinson's disease.
