Endocarditis :
Endocarditis is a bacterial or fungal infection inside the inner lining of the chambers and valves of the heart due to the existence of organisms in the blood. It can occur after dental procedures, intravenous drugs, or in any persons with pre existing heart conditions. Symptoms include fever, fatigue, heart murmurs, and loss of weight. It is usually diagnosed by blood cultures, echocardiograms, and imaging studies. Prolonged antibiotic therapy forms the treatment mode. In severe cases, such could become necessary to replace or repair a damaged heart valve. In the case of endocarditis, demand for prompt diagnosis and treatment is highly critical since complications may result in serious, potentially fatal results such as heart failure or stroke.
