Eclampsia :
Eclampsia can be described as a major complication that occurs during pregnancy in women with preeclampsia. Preeclampsia can be seen as the increased blood pressure and loss of large amount of protein through urine. Eclampsia is a condition which can cause fits or may leads to coma during pregnancy. The symptoms that can be observed in case of eclampsia can be seizures (fits), loss of consciousness, confusion or distress, breathing difficulties, headache, urination difficulty, blurred vision, abdominal pain, nausea & vomiting, swollen hands, face, ankles. There are diagnostic methods to diagnose eclampsia, including blood tests, creatinine tests, and urine tests. The treatment for eclampsia can be done through medications for controlling high blood pressure, for controlling fits, and steroid medicines. When there is increased blood pressure, the baby should be delivered immediately in order to prevent other complications. The complications that can be noticed in eclampsia are stroke, blood clots, premature birth of child, abruption of the placenta, and fetal or maternal death.
