Delayed Puberty :
Delayed puberty is an endocrine condition in which an adolescent doesn't develop secondary sexual characteristics (at the expected age). The primary sign of delayed puberty in males is the absence of testicle enlargement by the age of 14. The symptoms of delayed puberty in females include not beginning menstruation even after three years of breast development and lack of breast development in women. The other presenting complaints of delayed puberty include delayed bone age, delayed development of pubic hair, and the child being shorter than their expected age. The primary cause of delayed puberty is inheriting genetic variations. The other causative factors of delayed puberty include chronic kidney disease, cystic fibrosis, Turner's syndrome, Klinefelter syndrome, growth hormone deficiency, Addison's disease, inflammatory bowel disease, trauma to the child's brain or sex glands, type 1 diabetes, tumors affecting the spinal cord or brain of a child, and malnutrition due to eating disorders.
