Craniopharyngiomas :
Symptoms of craniopharyngiomas include vision changes , frequent headaches, fatigue, tiredness, and frequent urination. Diagnosis of craniopharyngiomas include neurological exam(to test vision, hearing, co-ordination, etc.), blood tests (variation in hormone levels), Imaging tests ( x-rays, CT SCAN, MRI SCAN). Treatment includes surgical removal.most of the times, Surgeons remove the entire tumor. After surgery , Radiation therapy is used to treat remaining tumor cells, so as to prevent further complications. Other treatments such as chemotherapy and targeted therapy may also be used. Depends on the location and size of tumor, there are two types of surgery which are - craniotomy (opening the skull to access the tumor), trans sphenoidal procedure (minimally invasive procedure).
