COPD :
COPD is described as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. COPD will be called as a chronic and progressive disease that affects the lungs by causing damage to the airways, blocking them. There are two types of COPD, which include chronic bronchitis and emphysema. The primary causes of COPD will be tobacco use, polluted air, and exposure to fumes and dust. The symptoms that are observed in the case of COPD will be a continuous cough with mucus, wheezing, fatigue, tightness in the chest, loss of weight, swollen ankles, feet, and legs, and frequent lung infections. The diagnostic tests, which are done to detect COPD, will be pulmonary function tests like lung volume test, pulse oximetry, lung diffusion test, spirometry, exercise stress test, CT scan, arterial blood gas analysis, and laboratory tests, including blood tests, test for AAT deficiency, and chest X-ray. The treatment advised in COPD will be by quitting smoking tobacco, inhaled steroids to reduce inflammation of airways, medications to reduce the symptoms, oral steroids, a pulmonary rehabilitation program, and oxygen therapy.
