Clavicle Fracture :
A clavicle fracture is also called a collarbone fracture. The clavicle bone, also called the collar bone, is present between the scapula and the sternum. There will be two types of clavicle fractures: single or comminuted clavicle fractures and displaced or non-displaced clavicle fractures. The symptoms that are observed in a clavicle fracture will be bone pain, bruising, swelling, difficulty in moving the shoulder, misalignment of the shoulder region, and tenting of the skin involving bone pieces stuck under the skin. The clavicle fracture can be caused by many reasons, such as shoulder collisions during playing sports, road accidents, falls, and trauma during birth. A clavicle fracture will be diagnosed through the diagnostic tests, which include X-rays and a CT scan. The treatment advised for a clavicle fracture will be done by immobilization of the shoulder with a sling, medications to relieve pain, physiotherapy, and surgery is indicated in case of damage to ligaments, tendons, or other blood vessels that are seen at the collar bone.
