Breast Abscess :
Breast Abscess refers to the accumulation of pus due to active infection, causing pain most commonly seen in lactating females. Bacteria is the major cause of infection in lactating women. The noticeable symptoms of breast abscess are pain in the region, redness, swelling, an increase in the temperature of the skin around the affected area along with discharge from another part of the breast, fever with chills, and fatigue. A breast abscess is treated by prescribing antibiotics, incision, and draining the abscess via a needle. After the treatment, one should consult a doctor in the presence of symptoms like redness, swelling, high fever, and pus discharge from the site of treatment, which are the signs of a new infection. If left untreated, breast abscess can lead to a life-threatening complication called sepsis, which occurs as a result of infection spreading throughout the body.
