Brachytherapy :
Brachytherapy is a type of radiation therapy that is used to manage cancer. In case of brachytherapy, radioactive seeds, capsules, or implants are injected near the cancer cells and then the radiation will be passed through them in order to destroy the cancer cells. There are various types of cancers that will be managed with brachytherapy, including gynecological cancers involving uterine cancer, cervical cancer, vaginal cancer, prostate cancers, eye cancer, breast cancer, and head and neck cancers. There are different types of brachytherapy, including intracavity brachytherapy, interstitial brachytherapy, and intraluminal brachytherapy. The main goal of brachytherapy will be to treat the cancer cells very precisely without damaging the healthy cells that surround the cancer cells. There are various side effects associated with brachytherapy, including bruising, nausea & vomiting, erectile dysfunction, vaginal scarring, swelling, urinary incontinence, pain, constipation, and diarrhea. Brachytherapy will be a very effective treatment method for the management of cancers.
