Amenorrhoea :
Amenorrhea is the condition in which a woman or teenage girl does not get their menstrual periods for several months and even longer. There are essentially two kinds of amenorrhea. Primary amenorrhea which occurs in a girl who has not attained a period by the time she becomes sixteen years of age. Secondary amenorrhea in a woman who was previously experiencing regular menstrual periods stops having those menstrual periods for a period of three months or more. Common causes include hormonal imbalances, extreme weight loss, excessive exercise, stress, and certain medical conditions like polycystic ovary syndrome, thyroid issues, or problems with the pituitary gland. Amenorrhea-related symptoms are caused by lack of periods along with other possible side effects, such as hair loss, headaches, acne, weight gain, or weight loss depending upon the cause. Treatment for this condition depends on the cause. Doctors can also advice lifestyle changes, hormone therapy or medications to treat the underlying conditions. A healthy weight gain, or a reduction in stress levels may help restore the normal, regular menstruation cycles for some women.
