Dr Pratik Chougule

Pratik Chougule is currently the consultant ophthalmologist at The David Brown Children’s Eye Care Centre, LVPEI- Vijayawada. He completed his primary medical education from Pravara Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) and did his residency in Ophthalmology from Sankara Eye Hospital, Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. He underwent a two- year fellowship training in Pediatric Ophthalmology, Neuro-ophthalmology, and Strabismus at L V Prasad Eye Institute, Hyderabad. He completed his clinical research fellowship in Neuro-ophthalmology from the reputed Singapore Eye Research Institute and Singapore National Eye Centre under the guidance of Prof. Dan Milea, a pioneer in Neuro-ophthalmology. He also received a fellowship from the International Council of Ophthalmology, UK. Dr Chougule has presented at several national and international meetings. He is actively involved in teaching and has conducted many workshops for residents and private practitioners in Strabismus, Cerebral Visual Impairment, and Pediatric Cataract. He has a keen interest in research and has authored several publications in peer-reviewed reputed medical journals and is a reviewer for Current Eye Research. He is currently working on understanding the effect of common ocular conditions on a child’s health and the impact of their timely treatment. His areas of interest are pediatric cataract, complex strabismus, and pediatric neuro-ophthalmology, including cerebral visual impairment
