Common Cold :
Common cold is a symptom of viral infection affecting upper respiratory tract, which includes nasal passages, sinus, throat and trachea. It is contagious and spreads quickly among classmates, colleagues or family members. It may not require any particular treatment as it usually subsides with 7 to 10 days of symptoms exposure. Use of certain medications may provide symptomatic relief such as antihistamines, cough suppressants, nasal decongestion drops or sprays . Home remedies such as sinus drainage, vaporizer, steam application may help to control the symptoms. Some of the symptoms associated with common cold are runny nose, nasal congestion, sneezing, cough, sore throat, and difficulty swallowing. As it extends to heal, people may experience headaches, generalized fatigue and fever.
